The Hillcrest Husky girls volleyball team is having another strong season, sitting at 13 wins and 10 losses. The Huskies currently hold the No. 3 spot in the 5A Region 3 standings and are ranked No. 75 in the state.
With only three regular-season games left before the playoffs, the excitement around Hillcrest is growing. The Huskies have made the playoffs the last two seasons, but each time came up short of reaching the second or third round. This year, the question they want to answer is can we go farther and maybe even win it all?
Head Coach Cassidy Adams said she’s proud of the progress the team has made this season, both on and off the court. “I am proud of their hard work. I see them working to improve individually and as a team,” she said. “It has been great to see their close friendship off the court start to translate to great team chemistry.”
That team bond has become a big part of Hillcrest’s success this year. “We see the most success when we are working as a team,” the coach added. “Throughout the season, we’ve said that a team that plays as a team will always be stronger than six great players.”
As the playoffs approach, the Huskies are focused on staying consistent and giving their best effort every match. “We would like to continue to improve in bringing our 100% to each match, being intentional, and being supportive to our teammates,” Adams said.
For Hillcrest, this year’s playoff push means more than just wins, it’s about leaving a legacy. “It would be amazing to advance in the playoffs this year,” she said. “We have a really big class of seniors who have put in a lot of work over the years to help rebuild our program. Advancing would help solidify that legacy and work that they’ve put in. But regardless, we are proud of the team andvalue their commitment over the years so much.”
As the Huskies gear up for the final stretch, fans should come out, fill the stands, and cheer on the Volleyball team for their upcoming game against West high and 0ct 21, 2025 against Taylorsville high school.
