Elijah-jon is the youngest in his family of six. He has two brothers Josh, Joey, and one
sister, Kaylani. Growing up in such a busy household he quickly realized his love for sports. Eli
loves to play basketball, football, and especially volleyball. During his Freshman year, he joined
his high school football team. His sophomore year he played football again and joined the first
ever Hillcrest boys volleyball team. His sports journey quickly took a turn when he found out
that something was wrong with his hips and would have to get surgery. The recovery took six
long and difficult months, before he could even consider going back to playing. But once he was
fully healed, he didn’t hesitate to get right into his next season of volleyball. Where he then
played libero, a position he proudly calls “the most important spot in the game.”
Eli is known for his strength and resilience, both physically and mentally. No matter the
sport, he’ll always have a smile on his face while lifting up all of his teammates. His smile and
dedication has not gone unnoticed over the years. He has built a strong circle of supporters and
friends through sports. “My biggest supporter is my mom.” Elijah says. “Shes always there for
me, even during the hardest moments of my life.” His mom and all of his friends and family’s
motivation fuels his drive to want to play as hard as he can every game. The more motivation
and supporters he has the more successful he is. Eli’s sports are more than just games, they’re his
whole life, he gets to go to practice and forget about all of his problems and just play. They’re
also just a reminder for him to show how far he has come
