MIDVALE, Utah — On December 9, a swim meet became one of the most exciting days of the season for Mack Larsen, one of the swimmers on the team.
When reflecting on the meet, Mack immediately identified his favorite moment. He said the best part was the final relay at the end of the competition. His team won the race, and he described it as feeling “pretty sweet” to finish the day strong. The relay was intense, but pushing through the challenge made the victory even more rewarding.
Mack was especially proud of his performance in the 100-meter freestyle event. He won his category, which gave him a significant confidence boost. He said that winning the race made him feel more confident in his swimming abilities.
Although the meet was successful, it was not without challenges. Mack said the hardest part was the final race, as he was already tired from competing in earlier events. By that point, he felt exhausted but continued to push himself to finish strong.
When asked about his most supportive teammate, Mack chose Pratty. While he did not go into detail, it was clear that having a teammate cheering him on meant a great deal to him.
Mack also reflected on what he learned from the meet. He said he realized the importance of pushing himself harder in practice to improve areas where he is not as strong. Moving forward, he plans to focus on building endurance so he can better handle long-distance events.
For Mack, the most memorable moment of the meet was not a race at all, but the time spent celebrating with his teammates afterward. Being together and feeling proud of their collective effort made the day especially meaningful.
Overall, Mack had a strong meet, learned from the challenges he faced, and enjoyed celebrating his success with his team.
