The Hillcrest High School boys’ basketball team has been showing significant improvement and confidence lately. After winning their last four games in a row, they are now 6–5. If they keep up this performance, they have a shot at finishing the season with an 18–5 win. This streak also includes a tournament win. Over the past few weeks, the team has been working hard, and it is starting to show.
It started with a 55–47 win over Brighton. Hillcrest stayed focused and played great the entire game. The Huskies did a good job controlling the ball. Their defense played a big role in keeping Brighton’s score low, keeping them from getting anything easy and closing out the game strong.
Next, Hillcrest competed in the Murray Tournament, where they earned a 59–39 win. This game was one of the team’s best so far. They played hard, created chances, and made the most of them. The score shows how focused the team was and how well they played together.
After the tournament, Hillcrest continued their winning journey with a 53–40 win against Kearns. The team was totally in control, making smart decisions with the ball. They stayed determined and didn’t let Kearns get any momentum. This win shows that the tournament wasn’t luck, but proves they’re really getting better.
West was the most recent game, where Hillcrest had its highest-scoring game of the streak, winning 60–56. The Huskies played very well with lots of energy. A couple of standout performances came from Jack (#3), who hit five three-pointers and scored 15 points, bringing a huge lift to the game. Grady (#2) also played a major role, constantly bringing the ball up the court and scoring throughout the game. These are just two of the many skilled players on the team.
Overall, Hillcrest’s recent performance comes from teamwork, hustle, and determination. With several players contributing and growing confidence, the Huskies look stronger each game. If they can keep this up, the team has a lot of potential to really take off as the season unfolds.
